And then my mom asked if he looked dangerous.
My first night went well. I have a poet--the fun, sexy type who probably also plays John Mayer songs on his guitar, not the sullen, I-hate-everyone type like Smith apparently has. I have a kid from southern Illinois who listens to Avenue Q. I have a kid who asked me to sign a sheet of paper at the end of class. I assumed it was some academic thing, letting me know he'd be missing a class or two because he was on the basketball team, but no. It was so I could verify he had been in class between the hours of 6 and 9:30. It was his work release form from the county jail. Nice.

Welcome back!
I'm really gonna try this time...and thanks. I was afraid everyone was gone. This makes me want to try even harder.
How are things?
Working too much, sleeping too little, and not getting nearly enough writing done. So things are pretty much the same, although my current work schedule does not allow me to spend evenings at the bars much these days, which may be a good thing.
