Stoopid slow computer...

Why is my computer so sloooooow today? I went downstairs, without any help from the boy, and reset the thingy that controls the whole internet thingy (I remind you all again that I TEACH English. Man, is my vocabulary spectacular!) Anyway, I pay $100 a month for internet (and a number of MTV channels, none of which play music on a regular basis) and at that price I my internet should friggin' bring me coffee and danish. Well, not danish, because I don't like it, but something homemade nonetheless.

Note: Really, it is the boy who pays the $100. That is his bill. That and the house payment. I pay all the other bills. And toilet paper ain't cheap these days.

Note: The boy is watching football right now and continues to shout out the names of random players and their feats. It's not even the Vikings. So I ask, why do I care? Oh, silly boy. Listen as he laughs at the beer commercials.

I should be reading Crime and Punishment right now. I should be writing the short stories of Mary Wilkins Freeman and deciding on a thesis. I should be creating fabulous lesson plans on the art of sound arguments. But I suppose I'm fulfilling two of my weekly goals right now: create blog, write more. And what good is creating a blog if I don't ramble a bit here and there?

Note: I spend the better part of yesterday learning how electricity is hooked up in a house. The boy and I ran all kinds of crazy wires everywhere. I also learned that I am not very good with power tools. And that sheetrock is heavy. Stoopid, heavy sheetrock. I also realized that just because meat is a little past expiration and it appears a little gray, it is still mighty tasty when combined with semi-runny mashed potatoes (the result of too much milk) and gravy with no butter or salt (the boy's contribution).
