I've officially allowed myself to misplace all of the braincells I had been using to finish the thesis. Since Friday afternoon I have done nothing that requires any real thinking. AND IT'S GREAT! I ate mashed potatoes at the Ranch, I convinced Smith to try on a prom dress and get a Blizzard with me, I watched too many hours of tv with the boy and came up with "Crotch Ball" (And of course he found inappropriate things to throw at my crotch while at Wal-Mart last night--fluffy pillows, canned goods).

We got our taxes done last night. First time my dad didn't just grab my W-2s and mysteriously, I'd have a $200 check in the mailbox three weeks later. Really, I had no idea how much it costs to have your taxes done. Or how much you get back when you're married. Which is good, because according to the preparer, if I was on my own I would have had to pay $100. Damn State of MN and your TAship.

And I've turned into my dad, spending night after night researching every aspect of the Radiance of the Sea ship and St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Practically making an itinerary in my head. Go rock climbing. Find cheap rum at port. Look for library on boat. (I am a nerd.)
